Generally, spring temperatures in Atlanta are mild, comfortable, and pleasant. Of course, we’ll have spring storms, too. To avoid some of the unpleasant effects of spring weather, we offer 3 things to do early in the season to protect your home…from the top down.
Here are 3 things to help you prepare your roof for spring:
- Trim tree branches that are getting too close to the roof, and remove any organic material (leaves, seeds, etc.) that builds up over time. If you’re unable or don’t want to trim branches from the ground, please hire a professional arborist or tree trimmer to do this work for you.
- With spring comes the infamous Georgia pollen season. Keeping pollen off of your roof is difficult, and trying to clean it off can be dangerous. We install complete metal roofing systems which manage debris and are not damaged by pollen buildups. Rain will rinse it right off.
- Check out your attic and roof ventilation. Proper ventilation reduces the likelihood of condensation and mold growth. Your home’s roof collects heat; if it isn’t directed outside by ventilation, it increases your home’s operating costs. Solving ventilation problems that impact your roof is a part of every Lifetime Metal Roofing installation.
